Mahindra XUV700 is a popular SUV in our market with waiting times stretching to as much as 2 years for some variants in some cities.
In some surprising news, Mahindra has recalled the XUV700 three times in around 1 month. This is quite bizarre considering the massive popularity and demand the SUV has experienced ever since in launch in September 2021. Mahindra is still not able to fulfil the demand due to supply chain issues and a ton of electronics used in the SUV. However, amidst all this, this has been its third recall to fix some issues. Check out the details of the recall and issue here.

Mahindra XUV700 Recalled Thrice
The recall, this time around, is due to the replacement needed of the alternator belt and auto tensioner. This belt is responsible for carrying the power of the engine to the drivetrain. Hence, it is a critical aspect of the powertrain. That is why Mahindra is classifying it as a ‘critical recall alert’. The XUV700 owners can contact their nearest dealership to know if their vehicle is affected by this recall or not. Previously, a recall was issued for the All-Wheel-Drive version of the SUV for a potentially faulty rear suspension setup. The 8-ring shock absorber at the rear was supposed to be replaced by a 9-ring unit.

Prior to that, the recall was announced for certain variants of the AWD version. At the time, there was an issue with the propeller shaft of the SUV. Now, these are all essential aspects that are getting faulty. We don’t know the exact reason for this but we can only hope that Mahindra is able to fix these issues sooner rather than later. As a precautionary measure, you should contact your nearest dealership urgently to be sure whether or not your XUV700 needs the service.
