Along with the long waiting period, the price of the popular Mahindra XUV700 is also increasing regularly. Here’s how it has got Rs 1.75 Lakh costlier in just 2 days.
The Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most popular SUVs in the country. It received more than 70,000 bookings within the first month of launch. However, the mid-size SUV has been facing long waiting periods, extending up to September 2023. In addition, the price of the infamous SUV is also increasing every day. Recent reports revealed that the Mahindra XUV700 became up to 1.15 lakh costlier in the last 4 months. Now, a customer has reported having saved Rs 1.75 lakh by ordering two days earlier.
As you can see in the image above, a customer from Bangalore ended up saving a large chunk of money on the purchase of a new Mahindra XUV700 Petrol AX7. Within two days, there was an increase of Rs 1.75 Lakh in price – 75K increase from M&M + 1 Lakh increase on road tax. After a recent change in the price, the road tax applied on the SUV changed in a few states as its ex-showroom price got above Rs 20 lakh. Due to this, the road tax is being charged from 18% to 21%. On the other hand, if we speak about the base model, originally, the vehicle’s price started at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom. As of 25th January, the base Petrol model is available at Rs 12.96 lakh, ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the top-end Diesel model now costs Rs 23.80 lakh.
The Mahindra XUV700 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit that offers a maximum power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 380 Nm. Whereas the Diesel engine outputs 155 PS/ 360 Nm in the lower versions and 185 PS/ 420 Nm (450 Nm in automatic variant) in the higher positioned models. Both the petrol and diesel engine variants come with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission choices. Additional features on the SUV include Smart Door Handles, built-in Alexa integration, Intelligence AdrenoX, a 3D Sound System with 12 speakers, and more.
Lately, the mid-sized SUV is showing outrageous waiting periods. Several customers have received delivery date in September 2023 (extending the waiting time to 22 months). Currently, the Mahindra XUV700’s delivery process is not following a first-come-first-served basis. Apparently, the company wants the SUV to reach every corner of the country first rather than fulfilling all the orders in one city. While this strategy will maximize footprint and increase popularity, it is testing the loyalty and patience of paying customers. The Mahindra XUV700 competes with the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. in the 7-seat configurations.
