A Mahindra XUV700 owner plays cards in the moving car highlighting the perils involved in misusing ADAS. ADAS (Autonomous Driving Assistance System) is a feature in modern vehicles that allows the sensors in the car to detect its surroundings to aid the driver while travelling on properly marked highways and roads. However, some owners have taken it to be a substitute for driving the vehicle themselves. It goes without saying that this jeopardizes the safety of the occupants in the car and everyone else on the road.

Mahindra XUV700 Owner Plays Cards Relying on ADAS
The video clip has been uploaded as YouTube shorts by automobileviralshorts. In the visuals, at least 4 people are seen travelling inside the Mahindra XUV700 SUV on a highway. However, they are playing cards in the moving car including the driver. What is shocking to witness is the fact that the driver is not even looking at the road and has his legs across the centre console. He is in no position to deal with any sudden obstacles on the road. This is evidently risking the safety of all the passengers along with other cars and pedestrians on the road.

This is not the first time an XUV700 owner is seen misusing the ADAS function of the SUV so brazenly. We have reported the drivers of the XUV700 doing all sorts of things while putting the SUV in ADAS mode. ADAS can read the lane markings on the road, steer the SUV and accelerate or decelerate (even stop) according to the road conditions. However, it is not meant to be a replacement for the driver. The latter is needed to keep the hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road in any case.

Finally, we would like to advise our readers to become responsible drivers and not get involved in such stupid acts. Moreover, don’t encourage these practices in your social circles either. We lose thousands of lives each year in road accidents due to careless driving and disrespecting traffic rules.
