The newer Mahindra products like the XUV700 and Scorpio N are on a spree of impressing foreign media personnel as seen in this case.
Mahindra XUV700 impresses a South African car expert as evident from this video. XUV700 is a premium SUV that achieved immense success in India. Mahindra decided to launch it in South Africa just months after the India launch. It has been doing tremendously well there. The Indian auto giant was the fastest-growing car marque in SA in 2022. That is on the back of the success it achieved by introducing the new-age SUVs that are slated to carry the brand forward in many international markets. Here is what the SA car reviewer had to say about it.

Mahindra XUV700 Impresses South African Car Expert
The review has been conducted by Greg Dennis Reviews on YouTube. He takes the SUV out for a test drive. He mentions that the powertrain is adequate for a vehicle in this category and it doesn’t feel underpowered at all. There is a slight turbo lag which is common in turbo cars. Apart from that, the suspension setup is quite impressive due to the independent configuration. That makes the SUV glide over bumps, potholes and speed breakers without compromising the harmony of the passengers. The automatic gearbox is decent in operation but one feels the gearshifts slightly.
Interior and Features
While the reviewer is impressed by the exterior, he is even more fascinated by what is on the inside. The overall layout looks quite premium with bright upholstery, a large panoramic sunroof, dual 10-inch touchscreen displays (one for infotainment and one for driver’s instrument cluster), wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control with physical knobs, drive modes, ADAS safety features, plenty of storage spaces, powered front seats with memory function, premium audio system and much more.
Specs and Price
In SA, the Mahindra XUV700 comes with a 2.0-litre mStallion direct injection turbo petrol mill that churns out a decent 148 kW and 380 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The price of the top AX7 L trim is an attractive R559,999 which is highly competitive compared to the other SUVs in this segment. The reviewer advises the audience to go for a test drive of the SUV and shortlist it. After comparing it with the rivals, you can go for it.
