In the latest instance, a Mahindra XUV700 is being driven hands-free in thick fog on a highway. The XUV700 is the flagship SUV in Mahindra’s lineup, boasting state-of-the-art technology, connectivity, safety, and convenience features designed to provide an indulgent experience for its occupants. A prime illustration of this is the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This technology has played a pivotal role in the tremendous success the vehicle has garnered since its introduction to the market. Despite its impressive features, some owners seem to abuse the ADAS capabilities. Here are the details of the latest incident.

Mahindra XUV700 Driven Handsfree in Fog
These visuals come from autojournal_india on Instagram. They capture a rather bizarre incident. An XUV700 driver is on a highway at 100 km/h. However, the visibility, due to fog, is almost zero. In such situations, one must always drive extremely slowly. In fact, if there is not an emergency, you must not even attempt to drive in such extreme conditions at all. It could not only be an issue for you but for others as well. As a matter of fact, we witness tons of accidents in such conditions all the time.

Now, the XUV700 with ADAS is capable of automatic emergency braking, in case it is needed. The radar and camera is able to sense any vehicle in the front even if it is not visible to the human eye. However, it doesn’t guarantee that the other person will stop the car too. Hence, a collision can’t be prevented even if the XUV700 applies brakes. That is the reason why it is a horrific decision to drive in such conditions, especially at such high speeds.
