In a rather shocking turn of events, a Mahindra XUV700 catches fire for no apparent reason outside a petrol pump. I have reported numerous cases of vehicles getting engulfed in flames in the past. While it is a more common issue with electric cars due to their volatile battery packs, we still come across regular ICE cars catching fires for various reasons. XUV700 is the flagship SUV from the Indian auto giant. It comes with the latest tech, connectivity, safety and convenience features. That is what has led to its massive popularity. Read the details here.
Mahindra XUV700 Catches Fire
The video comes from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. This channel features content around road crashes and the performance of vehicles in such situations. On this occasion, a case has emerged which shows the flagship Mahindra XUV700 completely destroyed due to fire. The information in the video mentions that the exact reason for the fire is unknown. However, there are some vague reports suggesting that due to extreme heat, the plastic bottle inside the car melted and led to the fire. But we can’t confirm or deny that claim.
In any case, this is not the first time a Mahindra XUV700 has caught fire in recent months. It is strange to see prominent vehicles encountering fire incidents so frequently. Admittedly, these cases increase when the summer season comes with extreme temperatures. We have seen that the temperatures are extraordinarily high, particularly in the northern part of the country. Hence, if the vehicles are parked in direct sunlight, things could get out of control if the sunlight falls at a certain angle. That is why it is advised that you try not to park cars in direct sunlight.
Our View
Automobiles catching fire is not all that uncommon. In recent times, we have seen many cars in flames for no apparent reason. That is quite strange. However, I must mention that the most common reason for such cases is aftermarket car modifications. When car owners tweak the electronics to install accessories, they often use low-quality materials to save some money. That often leads to short circuits. Hence, I would like to advise our readers to stay away from such practices.
