Mahindra XUV700 Waiting Period
We are all aware of the situation with semi-conductors and how it has affected the automobile industry world over. Mahindra had earlier highlighted the negative effects that it will most likely face due to semi-conductor chip shortage. It had also predicted that the XUV700 might face problems and delay in launch. The production of the chips was severely affected due to the global lockdown. The demand for home electronics went up exponentially which consumed the semi-conductors rapidly. Automobile Industry is not the primary target market for chip manufacturers and hence the automobile industry suffered.
This is the reason why Mahindra had launched only a few variants of the XUV700 at the moment. Also, these variants are all part of the 5-seat configuration. The XUV700 comes with MX, AX1, AX3, AX5 models at present with the AX representing the AdrenoX (connected car tech) equipped models. The top-of-the-line AX7 will follow soon to complete the fleet of the 5-seat XUV700. The 7-seat versions are yet to launch.
