Mahindra and Mahindra has created a new record by producing 200,000 units of XUV700 in just 33 months of launch. That is an incredible achievement for a vehicle which has an on-road price of over Rs 30 lakh in the top trims. That is a testament to the fact that the customers have really appreciated it enough to spend that amount in huge volumes. I am sure, the starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom has played a huge part in creating such extreme demand. That, along with the premium cabin, ADAS features, and the latest tech and convenience amenities, has wooed the buyers. Let us take a look at the details here.
Mahindra XUV700 Achieves 2 Lakh Sales
Launched on August 14, 2021, the XUV700 is the flagship SUV from the Indian automobile giant. The demand was strong from the get-go as it bagged insane bookings at the time. This translated into sales too with the first 1,00,000 units delivered in just 21 months of launch. Intriguingly, the demand surged even further and the last 1,00,000 sales occurred in just 12 months. I am particularly impressed by the consistency of the sales despite stiff competition in this segment. Apart from that, the 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP must’ve enhanced its appeal even further. In these 33 months, it has bagged 40 prestigious awards which validates its capabilities and popularity.
The Mahindra XUV700 is a large 7-seat SUV which comes with a myriad of modern features to pamper the customers. Also, the materials used inside the cabin and the layout make you believe that you are sitting in some premium high-end luxury car. That has been the main attraction that draws people in as soon as they set their gaze on the SUV. To celebrate this occasion, there are two new paint shades on offer – Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna. Some of the top amenities include:
- Integrated 10.25-inch Dual HD Superscreen for Infotainment and Driver’s Instrument Cluster
- Amazon Alexa Build-in Integration

- Level 2 ADAS Active Safety Features
- Drive Modes
- AdrenoX Connected Car Tech
- Panoramic Sunroof
- Smart Door Handles
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control

In terms of powertrain options, the Mahindra XUV700 offers class-leading numbers. There is a potent 2.0-litre 4-cylinder mStallion turbo petrol direct injection engine which generates a whopping 200 hp and 380 Nm of peak power and torque. On the other hand, the 2.2-litre 4-cylinder mHawk turbo diesel mill is available in two states of tune – 155 hp / 360 Nm and 185 hp / 420 Nm (450 Nm with automatic transmission). These engines pair with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. In higher trims, there is an all-wheel-drive configuration as well. The prices range from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 26.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
