Mahindra and Mahindra is the name people want when they are willing to ride a real SUV. After Mahindra Scorpio, Bolero, Xylo, Quanto and Rexton, XUV 500 repeated the success story of Mahindra. XUV500 was launched in 2011 in India and African continent. The SUV is available in three models – Mahindra XUV500 W6 4×2, W8 4×2 and W8 4×4. It is available in seven eye-catchy shades.
Mahindra has created niche in international markets like South Africa, Kenya, Italy and many more. And in the order, it is soon going to launch XUV 500 in Latin America. The next destination for the popularly known FIVE DOUBLE OH!M&M machine is Chile. Pawan Goenka, President of Mahindra & Mahindra had confirmed the news of launch at Auto Expo 2012. The market of Chile has been the first choice of M&M since long. If sources are to be believed the export will begin from September, 2013. For this export the XUV 500 is developed with left hand drive, also its braking package is improved. It will also be launched in an automatic version later on.
XUV 500 is been manufactured at M&M’s facility at Chakan, near Pune in Maharashtra. To cope up with the international and domestic demand M&M has increased its production from 4000 units per month to 4500 units per month. XUV 500 showed a growth of 17.68% in 2012 as compared to 2011.
It is an amazing blend of luxury comfort and high level of technology. The SUV is fitted with 360 degree wheel drive, GPS navigation system, driver information system, intelligent parking reverse system, cruise control, rain and light sensors. Mahindra has equipped it with very high level of security systems that can enable adventures drives. Some of the security features include rollover mitigation, hill descent and hill control.
It has a success story behind it with over 35,000 units sold in the first year of launch and the demand remaining strong in whichever markets it has been launched in. Mahindra has recently launched a smartphone application for controlling many functions of the XUV500.
