Mahindra is soon going to launch an updated version of the XUV500 in India. Thanks to a couple of spy images, we now know for sure that the Facelifted XUV500 is going to get a major overhaul in terms of its design. Majority of the changes are seen on the rear fascia of the SUV. However, in addition to this, the vehicle also gets a number of other design updates as well. The 2018 iteration of Mahindra XUV500 is going to get new 18-inch alloy wheels. In addition to this, it will also get royal tan upholstery on the inside. Furthermore, the dashboard will have a leather finish. While the plastics are now softer to touch in comparison to the older version. Also, the new infotainment system has a host of new add-ons. However, it does not come with a CD player.

Apart from these, the Mahindra XUV500 Facelift is going to come with features like LED daytime running lamps. The list also includes projector headlamps, automatic climate control, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror among the others. The new XUV500 is going to be a step-up in terms of its features and creature comforts. Currently, this vehicle is the flagship product for Mahindra in India. Hence, this time around, Mahindra is going to make it considerably more premium than before.
With this update, the rear fascia of the XUV500 gets a major overhaul. While the front profile gets a new grille and redesigned bumper. Towards the back, the SUV ditches the elongated tail-lamps for a more conventional design. That said, the new layout looks quite appealing. Furthermore, it gives the 2018 XUV500 a mature stance.

The Mahindra XUV500 Facelift will get the same engine as the current spec model. However, the automaker will slightly rework the motor with this update. The motor will produce 168 BHP along with 350 NM of peak torque. A 6-speed manual transmission will be available as standard. While the 2018 XUV500 is also going to get an automatic gearbox.

Expect the prices of the updated XUv500 to fall in the same price bracket as before. This means the prices will range from INR 12.5 lakh to INR 18.5 lakh. Currently, the major competitor for the Mahindra XUV500 is the Tata Hexa, which it will continue to pitch against. Furthermore, it will also have the Jeep Compass to go against. According to recent media reports, it is likely that the new XUv500 will launch in India on 18th April.
