Global NCAP has awarded the Mahindra XUV300 with the Safer Choice Award for providing highest levels of safety. It gets a 5-star rating for adult occupancy, 4-stars for child occupancy, meets the pedestrian norms and also gets ESC.
Global NCAP has awarded the Mahindra XUV300 their first-ever Safer Choice award. According to Global NCAP, this is an accolade for cars (and their respective carmakers) that provide the highest levels of safety. This award follows closely on the heels of the Mahindra XUV300 scoring a five-star safety rating from Global NCAP last month.
In the crash tests conducted by the Global NCAP on the Mahindra XUV300, the compact-SUV secured 5-star rating for adult occupant protection and four stars for child occupant protection. In fact, the XUV300 has secured the highest combined occupant safety rating for any made-in-India car tested by Global NCAP to date.
Mahindra handed the XUV300 for further Global NCAP conformity tests after that. The XUV300 then also meet both the pedestrian protection and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) requirements for the Safer Choice award. Global NCAP announced the award challenge at the 2018 Auto Expo. To win this award, a car must achieve a 5-star score for adult occupant protection and a minimum of four stars in child occupant protection. Further, the car also has to have ESC (at least as an option for all variants) and must also meet pedestrian protection norms.

The Mahindra XUV300 is among the very few cars that have bagged a 5-star saefty rating from the Global NCAP. Recently, the Tata Nexon and the Tata Altroz also got a 5-star safety rating from Global N-CAP. These three are the only made-in-India, sold-in-India cars to have bagged such an honor. For the XUV300, the award really goes a long way to speak for the safety this compact-SUV provides.
