Here’s an example of the strong build quality and safety of the Mahindra XUV300, despite being hit by a cow at high speed.
In our country, be it a highway or a local road, cows and buffaloes are bound to turn up everywhere. We have to take immense precaution while driving around them because if they steer our way, then both the car and the cattle are in danger. Here’s an example where a Mahindra XUV300 had to go through the same.
This accident happened in December last year. The owner was driving on a highway at a speed of about 60 km/hr. Suddenly, a cow ran from one side of the road and hit the car. The person driving the car could not steer away the car and that’s when the cow damaged the side portion of the car.

Everyone travelling inside was safe and the car also faced minimal damage. The owner had to replace the driver side fender and both the doors. After changing, the car was back to mint condition and it did not look like something was damaged. However, later, the owner noticed that the steering wheel was also a little offset and despite alignment, it did not get better.
After visiting a couple of service centres, the mechanic detected damage in the strut. Due to that, the steering was offset by 1 degree. The owner had to keep it there for at least 3 months but once repaired, he feels that it is as original as a new car. This shows that the XUV300 really lives up to the name of being the safest car of India.
Mahindra XUV300 gets a 1.2 Litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5 Litre diesel engine, both BS6 compliant. Soon, it will get a more powerful version of its turbo petrol engine which will help the SUV produce nearly 130 PS. The prices start off at Rs 8.3 Lakhs up to Rs 12.60 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
