Reportedly, Mahindra XUV300 might be offered with a CNG variant too. Soon, its electric version and AMT version are also going to be launched in India.
Mahindra XUV300 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.9 Lakhs, going up to Rs 11.9 Lakhs (Ex-showroom prices). It is available in petrol as well as diesel option.
At the launch event of the SUV, Rajan Wadhera, President of Mahindra and Mahindra, confirmed to IAB that XUV300 will get CNG later. He further stated that the development has not commenced yet.
Currently, Mahindra offers CNG option in KUV 100 Trip. The Trip variant is exclusively for fleet operators. Mahindra XUV300 CNG will be the first one in its compact SUV segment.

As obvious, Mahindra XUV300 CNG will be offered with a petrol engine. The SUV gets a new 1.2 Litre Turbocharged petrol engine, that is capable of delivering 110 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.
Many automotive brands are planning to offer CNG with their lower priced popular products. The main reason is because the diesel car prices will increase by a significant amount post BS-6 regulations. CNG will work as a cheaper alternative.
The diesel engine is a 1.5 Litre unit, borrowed from Marazzo. The engine produces 115 BHP and 300 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard across all variants.

Meanwhile, Mahindra is also developing a pure electric variant of the XUV300. The development process is ongoing and the EV is scheduled to launch by the second half of 2020.
The Mahindra XUV300 EV will be offered with two battery pack options – one for a good driving range and one for performance. Mahindra has assured that the prices will be kept in check.
