Mahindra XUV 3XO will be the facelift version of the existing XUV300. It has been spied testing for months now. In fact, many digital rendering artists have also come up with unique iterations of the same. This is one such case. The XUV300 has been due for a thorough update for a while now. Due to stiff competition in the compact SUV segment in India, I believe it is pertinent to ensure that a vehicle is fresh and offers the latest comfort, convenience, connectivity, performance and safety features. While the existing model does it all, the new XUV 3XO will take things up a notch.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Rendering
Even though this is a virtual concept, the designer has taken inspiration from the spy shots and the official teasers launched by Mahindra a few days ago. At the front of this concept, we see the C-shaped LED DRLs surrounding the main headlamp cluster, the slim front grille much like the current model, a sporty bumper and a sturdy skid plate. On the sides, there are stylish new alloy wheels and roof rails. However, the overall profile and silhouette remain primarily the same. All in all, the aesthetics would bear slight modifications, both on the outside and inside. But more details will surface on April 29, 2024.

Specs
I don’t expect to witness any changes to the powertrains with the XUV 3XO. Hence, it will most likely continue to get a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol direct injection engine generating the best-in-segment 130 hp and 230 Nm, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing a decent 110 hp and 200 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine churning out 115 hp and 300 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. These engines will pair with either a 6-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The current SUV retails between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.76 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift will definitely bear a premium over these prices.

The facelift guise of the Mahindra XUV300, I feel, is an exciting alternative in this already crowded category. But the official teasers indicate just how much work the Indian carmaker has done to ensure that the XUV 3XO comes with tons of segment-first features. Moreover, there will be improvements in the existing model like a new free-standing touchscreen, a new digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and more. We shall see how well the customers react to the XUV 3XO.
