The Mahindra XUV300 is priced starting from Rs 7.9 Lakhs to Rs 11.9 Lakhs. It comes with 4 variants in petrol and diesel guise each.
However, considering the fact that it competes in the sub-4-meter category with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon, the starting price of Rs 7.9 Lakhs is decent. However, with the plethora of features on offer, the top-spec variant reaches Rs 11.9 Lakhs, which is higher than its segment rivals.

In comparison, the Maruti Vitara Brezza, available only with a diesel derivative is sold at a starting price of INR 7.58 lakh to INR 10.55 lakh. These prices are ex-showroom.

Mahindra XUV300 is available with petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant uses a newly developed 1.2 Litre Turbocharged unit, which is capable of delivering 110 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.

The diesel derivative of this compact SUV is the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine which made its debut with the Marazzo MPV. This 4-cylinder unit is capable of churning out 120 BHP of power along with 300 Nm of peak torque.
The automaker has confirmed that it is going to launch the XUV300 with an automatic gearbox. For the time being, both the petrol as well as the diesel engine come with a 6-speed manual transmission unit.
In contrast, the Maruti Vitara Brezza, as mentioned before is currently available only with a diesel engine under its hood. This engine is a Fiat-sourced. 1.3-litre unit capable of producing 88 BHP along with 200 Nm of peak torque. As standard, it comes with a 5-speed manual transmission along with 5-speed AMT unit.
There are speculations that Maruti Suzuki will introduce a petrol derivative of the Vitara brezza in the near future, The launch of the same is expected to happen sometime during the second half of 2019. The rumored engine could very well be a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder unit capable of churning our 110 BHP along with 150 Nm of peak torque.
