Mahindra XUV 300 is going to launch in India on the 14th of February 2019. Measuring under 4-meters in length, it will compete in the sub-compact SUV segment in India. Other players in this segment include the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford, EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.

The XUV 300 is based on the same platform as that of the SsangYong Tivoli. Infact, both these compact utility vehicles share quite a lot more than just the platform. From the outside, thought the former has a distinctive Mahindra design, it is not that hard to find a certain resemblance between it and the later. Step inside the cabin and the similarities become quite obvious with the XUV 300’s dashboard layout being in exact sync with the one of the Tivoli.
The engine line-up of the Mahindra XUV 300 will consist of petrol as well as a diesel engine. The petrol motor is going to be a 1.2-litre unit. On the other hand, the diesel derivative is going to be a 1.5-litre unit. though we are not aware of the exact power outputs of these engines, we are well aware of their respective torque figures.

The 1.2-litre engine in the XUV 300 is going to produce 200 NM of peak torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine will be good for 300 Nm of peak torque. With these figures, Mahindra’s latest offering is going to be the one having the largest torque output across the sub-compact SUV segment. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard across the range.
