The Mahindra XEV 7e has been leaked ahead of the launch. Note that the XEV 7e will be the ideal electric SUV for those who want the EV iteration of the XUV700. Mahindra is coming up with a slew of new-age EVs based on the INGLO platform. These are designed to meet global standards and compete in the international markets. Hence, we witness revolutionary design and tech on these electric SUVs. To bifurcate the ICE and EV lineup, Mahindra will launch EVs under two new electric sub-brads – XEV and BE. For now, let us take a look at the details of the electric car here.
Mahindra XEV 7e Leaked Before Launch
We are able to get a glance at the upcoming EV courtesy of HER GARAGE on YouTube. The famous YouTuber had spotted multiple variants of the electric SUV. Of course, these were heavily camouflaged. Still, we were able to get a glimpse of the familiarities with the recently launched XEV 9e. This includes striking LED DRLs on the edges of the bumper surrounding the LED headlamp cluster. Apart from that, the side profile looks very similar to the existing XUV700. Hence, it is clear that the overall silhouette will resemble the ICE SUV. We have a similar situation at the rear with sharp LED taillamps and an almost identical layout.
Interestingly, YouTube also gives details of the inside. This is where a major difference from the ICE counterpart becomes visible. It gets the triple-screen configuration, something we have seen on the XEV 9e. Overall, the cabin certainly feels like it belongs to a vehicle a few segments above. The top amenities inside the cabin incorporate a digital driverโs instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment display and a passengerโs screen covering the entire dashboard. The top amenities include a two-spoke steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS, premium audio system, multi-zone automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with memory and ventilation function and much more.
Specs
Since we are yet to experience the launch, it is unclear what the powertrain details of the electric SUV are going to be. Still, it could borrow the battery packs from the XEV 9e. Hence, we can expect 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery which could provide a range of over 550 km on a single charge. Furthermore, we could get single-motor 2WD or dual-motor AWD configurations which will lend it impressive off-tarmac capabilities. Let us keep an eye out for more details as they emerge.
