The Indian auto giant wants to expand its global footprint with its new-age product portfolio
Mahindra showcases its new design studio, which will display its prowess and capabilities to manufacture world-class vehicles. The Indian auto giant has been having a decent time on the sales charts in the last couple of years. Its existing ICE SUVs and its new-age electric vehicles are enticing new customers vehemently. The latter is something we have seen with the latest XEV 9e and BE 6 in our market, and how well the customers responded to these. For now, let us take a look at the details of the new design studio in Mumbai.
Mahindra Unveils New Future-Ready Design Studio
As per the official press release, Mahindra inaugurated its all-new Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS). It is a state-of-the-art creative facility located in Mumbai. Interestingly, this establishment doubles the size of the existing studio. The current studio was set up back in 2015 as a dedicated studio to support Mahindra’s Auto and Farm businesses. However, with massive growth of the firm, the enhanced studio brings fresh investments in design infrastructure, new-age technologies, and global best practices.
Note that Mahindra also has its global design outpost in the UK called Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE). Going forward, MADE and MIDS will collaborate on a wide range of products across various industries to enhance the strength and growth of the Indian auto giant. Even though Mahindra didn’t specify which vehicles will benefit from this studio, we can expect all the upcoming products to bear some influence from the talented employees at MIDS. I shall keep an eye out for details in this case.
Management Says
Speaking on this occasion, Ajay Saran Sharma, Sr. Vice President of Design and Head MIDS said, “It is a pleasure to have this new avatar of Mahindra India Design Studio commissioned. With state-of-the- art design spaces & machinery backed by world-class skills that hugely expands its capability & capacity. The footprint of the space stands doubled to take on and deliver the ever-expanding project portfolio across businesses. End-to-end delivery on projects, from the first concept sketch through to production stands further strengthened with the new working structure that along with the classic design verticals includes new functions such as HMI Design, Design Quality & Realisation.”
