While nothing is official yet, ACI suggests that the event on August 15 in South Africa will bring the electric concept version of the popular Thar SUV. In addition, the Scorpio N pickup truck concept will also be present. Staying with the Thar concept, it could even feature a quad-motor set-up as opposed to the dual-motor setup prevalent in many AWD electric SUVs. Moreover, rumours also indicate that it could even boast hardcore features like crab steer or crab walk. The automobile enthusiasts would already know that the Hummer EV has these features.

These allow the SUV to make a U-turn/360° turn on the same spot. Also, it allows the tyres to turn almost 45° which is crucial to parallel park such a huge SUV. Mahindra could also showcase whether it wants to develop the electric Thar on the existing ladder on frame chassis, make use of the monocoque chassis or base the Thar EV concept on the INGLO platform (dedicated EV platform). Traditionally, Mahindra uses the ladder frame chassis for its SUVs making it indestructible, particularly on off-roading terrains.
