A bizarre case has emerged where a Mahindra Thar owner accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of brake. As a result, the SUV hit the glass door of a showroom. I have been reporting similar instances for a long time now. New drivers often make the mistake of confusing the pedals in a car. Also, people driving under the influence of intoxicants also end up getting involved in such situations from time to time. Hence, we must learn from such incidents and ensure that we don’t imitate these people.
Mahindra Thar Owner Presses Accelerator Instead of Brake
This video comes to us courtesy of Nikhil Rana on YouTube. This channel features content around the performances of cars during unfortunate scenarios and road safety. On this occasion, a case has emerged from Konnur in Kerala. As per the information in the video, a newbie driver was parking in the designated space outside a shop. The guard is seen giving instructions to the Thar driver to park in the right spot. He keeps signalling the driver to come forward to utilize the entire space. Once satisfied, he asked the driver to stop.
However, due to some confusion, the driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. As a result, the off-roading SUV climbed into the stairs in the front and ended up colliding against the glass door of the showroom. The security guard managed to jump out of harm’s way in the nick of time. Thereafter, the Thar driver tried to reverse but he hit the parked vehicle. I am not sure about the further developments since the video ended abruptly at this point.
Our View
This is a classic case of people getting in the driver’s seat way before than they actually know how to drive. It is a common problem in our country. Newbies just want to start driving as soon as possible without thinking of the consequences of their actions. I hope this video serves as an example to such people and how easily things could go wrong in the blink of an eye. I advise our readers to always be sure that you don’t drive unless you are confident in your abilities. If you see anyone doing this, make sure to report them to the authorities so that they don’t jeopardize the lives of everyone around.
