Driving in the mountains in thick snow might seem attractive and adventurous. But it could easily turn into a nightmare in a matter of seconds.
This is a video clip of a Mahindra Thar crash while driving in the snow. The video has been uploaded on Nikhil Rana’s YouTuber channel. He keeps updating such content to make people aware of road safety and traffic rules. Road safety is a relevant topic and if people understand it, the number of road accidents could be reduced drastically. Also, different road and weather conditions require different skills to achieve appropriate driving. This is one such example of what could happen if you take the mountain and snow for granted.

Mahindra Thar Crash in Snow
The video comes from Kashmir. Tourists flocked to the mountain regions to enjoy the snowfall. However, most of them are not used to driving in the mountains and snow. In this video, there is a Mahindra Thar that brakes in the snow. As a result, it slides off from the road and starts moving towards the edge. The driver and the passenger realised that the SUV will not stop and jumped out of the moving car. Thankfully, the SUV was at slow speed and both people made it out successfully, without any serious injury. However, the Thar couldn’t stop and fell off the cliff. A passenger of the car behind the Thar made the video of this entire incident.

There are various requirements to drive in the snow. One must have a proper off-roading SUV with 4×4 capabilities. Secondly, the tyres should be winter tyres which are specifically designed to shove away snow from the tyres. The tread patterns are developed accordingly. Another simple way of driving in snow is to wrap the tyres of the car with iron chains. This ensures that the vehicle has traction and doesn’t lose grip on the road. If you have never driven in the mountains or snow, make sure to take an experienced driver along. He/She could be of immense help to ensure safe driving.
