5-door Mahindra Thar
The competition in the budget-friendly off-road SUV segment has escalated with the launch of the 5-door Maruti Jimny. Prior to this, the Thar enjoyed an unchallenged market-dominance. What We Think
While the headlamps aren’t the deciding factor towards purchase of a vehicle, we feel that the Bi-Xenon fixtures will surely enhance the visual appeal. Also, the factory-fitted G-Wagon-like headlamps will stop the owners to opt for aftermarket units. This, in our opinion, is a crucial step towards stopping owners from having their warranty voided. The Thar has held the top spot on the sales charts, but it has had some limitations when it comes to cabin space and practicality. The upcoming 5-door version aims to tackle these concerns. The extended wheelbase will offer more room for the second row and cargo storage.
