Here is a walkaround video of the Mahindra Thar 5-Door. Thar has been selling in our market like hotcakes ever since its launch. There were huge waiting periods on the off-roading SUV since its launch and the situation remains somewhat similar still. The current generation of the Thar has made lifestyle off-roading SUVs popular in our market. With added creature comforts in the cabin, owners are using it for daily commutes in addition to strong off-roading adventures. The 5-door version is bound to enhance the practicality even further.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door Walkaround Video
The video has been uploaded by Yash9w on YouTube. The vlogger randomly spotted this heavily camouflaged 5-door Thar parked right next to the XUV300 Turbosport on the side of the road. He goes closer to the test mule and starts recording a walkaround video for the viewers. There are not a whole lot of changes to the overall silhouette of the SUV which is expected since the main attraction of this version will be its extended length and wheelbase to accommodate the large boot compartment.

By the looks of it, this might well be the base model. Moreover, there are some components that highlight that this is strictly for testing purposes. This includes things like the old Mahindra logo on the alloy wheels and halogen headlamps. One interesting thing about this is the placement of the rear door handles which is quite modern. Also, the ORVMs look like the regular model too but the high-mounted stop lamp is slightly redesigned. We can be certain that there will be minute changes to the exterior to distinguish it from the 3-door version.

As far as the engine specifications are concerned, this Thar is most likely to carry similar powertrains as the current model. This includes a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol. Also, there will be options of choosing between a manual and an automatic gearbox. The video also suggests that the 5-door version will also come in the RWD settings that would make it financially more accessible to a wider range of audience. Needless to say, the boot space will be significantly enhanced and there will be a dedicated 4×4 configuration.
