Mahindra has officially teased the largest-in-segment skyroof on the upcoming XUV 3XO. Note that it is the facelift version of the existing XUV300. With this update, the Indian auto giant is coming up with a new nomenclature to set it apart from the old model. The XUV 3XO will have the world premiere on April 29, 2024. At the moment, Mahindra is coming up with new teasers to reveal interesting details to entice potential customers. Let us take a look at the details of what we know so far.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Teased with Skyroof
This video comes from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. The vlogger discusses various aspects of the new XUV 3XO. However, the prime talking point has to be the new Skyroof. It will be the largest sunroof in the segment which is already a huge advantage over its rivals. I have reported on numerous occasions, just how obsessed the Indian customers are with this feature. Recognizing this, Mahindra has offered a large sunroof. In fact, it is the first time ever that a vehicle in this segment has this amenity. Apart from that, the new XUV 3XO will even feature a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, an improved version of the one found in the current model.
Specs
In terms of specifications, I don’t reckon there will be any changes in comparison to what the XUV300 currently gets. This includes a 1.2-litre turbo petrol direct injection engine producing 130 hp and 230 Nm (best-in-segment), a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine belting out a healthy 110 hp and 200 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine developing 115 hp and 300 Nm of peak power and torque. There will be options of choosing between either a 6-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The new model will command a premium over the existing price range of between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.76 lakh, ex-showroom.

Author’s Note
Mahindra is ensuring that it draws in new customers with the latest tech, convenience, connectivity and safety features. With the fierce competition in this space from the likes of the Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon, each product needs to stand out to shine. The options people have in this overcrowded segment are aplenty. Therefore, I believe it would only be possible to woo the customers if the carmakers offer something more than the average. Hence, the best-in-segment functions could be the difference maker. Let us keep an eye out for more details once the new SUV premiers.
