Modern YouTubers often adopt the practice of drag racing to compare the performances of two cars.
In this video, a prominent YouTuber has decided to drag race a Mahindra Scorpio N and Maruti Invicto. The Scorpio is one of the most established SUVs in the country for decades now. In its latest iteration, Mahindra aims to cater to those audiences who are looking for a premium iteration of the utilitarian SUV. That is why it comes with the latest tech and convenience features and a premium cabin. On the other hand, the Maruti Invicto is a badge-engineered version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. It is a premium MPV with the sole aim of offering a comfortable journey to a large number of passengers. Let us see how well these two compare against each other on the drag strip.

Mahindra Scorpio N vs Maruti Invicto Drag Race
The video has been uploaded by HER GARAGE on YouTube. The YouTuber has the two seemingly different vehicles parked right next to each other. Even though there is a lot of difference between the specifications of these two, she decides to do a drag race anyway. For the first round, there are two people in the MPV and just 1 person in the SUV. The AC is on and they have selected the manual mode for automatic transmission. The Invicto completely trounces the Scorpio in the first round. The latter was nowhere to be seen right from the very beginning.

For the second round, a similar trend followed. Thereafter, they decided to give the Scorpio the advantage of keeping the AC off. In the third round, the two vehicles were almost neck to neck for the initial phase of the race. But after crossing the speed of around 100 km/h, the Invicto overtook the Scorpio and remained ahead. In the final round, they decided to put the Invicto in drive mode while keeping the AC on. The AC of the Scorpio was off. This is when the Scorpio gave the toughest fight to the Invicto but eventually lost.

Specs Comparison
The Mahindra Scorpio N is offered in two engine options – a 2.2-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. These engines produce peak power outputs of 132 PS (D), 175 PS (D), and 200 PS (P), along with peak torque figures of 300 Nm (D), 400 Nm (D), and 380 Nm (P), respectively. Buyers have the choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the Invicto consists of a robust hybrid unit that comprises of a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine working in tandem with an electric motor. Its total power output is 184 hp, and it is coupled to an e-CVT automatic. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 9.5 seconds.
