Scorpio N was launched in the SA market a few weeks ago and the response from the customers and experts is largely positive. They are impressed by what the SUV is capable of, especially because it represents the modern-day version of the rugged and iconic SUV with a focus on the creature comforts for the passengers. It was put to test in the unforgiving Richtersveld region of South Africa.

Mahindra Scorpio N on Tough Terrains of South Africa
The video has been shared by Mahindra South Africa Official Page on YouTube. It showcases a group of 4 people on an extremely adventurous and popular terrain of Richtersveld in South Africa. The terrain consists of beaten tracks, river crossings, high passes, tracks with rocks, steep inclines, slippery slopes and more. It can prove to be the ultimate testing ground for any SUV that claims to be hardcore and genuine off-roader. The video is a part of the series where the group traverses across this terrain over multiple days.

Scorpio N comes equipped with plenty of hardware that would allow the passengers to have a comfortable ride regardless of what the terrain is like. Also, there is enough hardware to allow a convincing performance on the dirt track and steep slopes and over boulders. It looks like the SUV was able to take it all in its stride which is the reason why it has been so widely appreciated by the public and experts.

Mahindra Scorpio N comes powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill that churns out a respectable 128.6 kW and 400 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission duties are carried by a torque converter automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels via Mahindra’s 4XPLOR technology. It is available in 3 variants – Z4, Z8 and Z8L. The 7-seat SUV has drive modes to make sure that you are in the right settings for any terrain. The price range starts at an attractive R465,000 and goes all the way up to R519,000.
