Mahindra Scorpio N is a 7-seat off-roader that is taken to extreme conditions by the owners to test its capabilities and this is one such case.
In this latest video, a Mahindra Scorpio N owner struggles in the snow while a Maruti S-Presso driver aces the terrain. Scorpio N is the latest iteration of the iconic Scorpio that has been selling like hotcakes in India since ages. The N represents the new-age version with updated styling, modern features and new powertrains. Essentially, it retains the ruggedness of the original Scorpio while offering new-age features to get a wider range of audiences interested in it. S-Presso, on the other hand, is an urban micro SUV that belongs to the entry-level segment of our market.

Mahindra Scorpio N and Maruti S-Presso in Snow
The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on YouTube. He is on a winter trip to Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. There has been a fresh spell of snowfall. He is at a point in the journey where there is a slope and there is black ice on the road making it extremely challenging for cars to retain traction and grip. He struggles to get his Scorpio N up the hill despite engaging 4×4 Lo. As he waits with his friend in the car, there is a convoy of other cars consisting of Mahindra Thar (old and new), Isuzu V-Cross, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Scorpio N etc. He lets them try to pass through this portion.

Unsurprisingly, all these SUVs passed that area with no real difficulties. Sure, there were instances where the Thar struggled a bit. The brakes were not getting engaged due to black ice and the SUVs were getting drifted to the part where the roads are clear. Nevertheless, all the vehicles of the convoy made it through. What is shocking to see is that a local Maruti S-Presso arrived at that spot and cleared the slope after a few attempts. Scoprio N of the vlogger finally made it to the top as well. The difference lies in the skill levels. The locals are used to crisscrossing this terrain with their everyday cars on a daily basis.

Now there are millions of reasons why something like this could happen. Firstly, if you are not used to driving in such conditions, it doesn’t matter which car you own. You will struggle. That explains how the S-Presso driver was able to pass through that area and the Scorpio N with 4×4 drivetrain struggled. Hence, you must not jump to conclusions by making assumptions based on such vlogs. You can get an idea of what to expect on such adventurous trips and ensure that you are adequately prepared. Apart from that, you must not risk your safety if you are not feeling comfortable.
