The mad popularity of the iPhone and the Mahindra Scorpio N can be compared when considering the bookings of both.
Mahindra Scorpio N was sold out in just 1 minute (25,000 bookings) just like the iPhone X was sold out at the pre-orders back in 2017 within minutes. Potential buyers and industry experts alike are quite astonished by such huge demand as the first day booking commencement ended with over 1,00,000 lakh bookings. This roughly translates to Rs 18,000 Crore revenue which is simply outstanding. Mahindra has announced that the deliveries will commence on September 26 and 20,000 Scorpio N SUVs will be delivered by December 2022.

Mahindra Scorpio Sold Out
Back in 2017, when the iPhone X was launched, Amazon reported that the pre-orders were sold out within minutes. Surprisingly, the model with 256 GB RAM was priced at over Rs 1 lakh. But that didn’t deter people from buying it in a flash. A similar trend is being observed with Mahindra SUVs at the moment. At the time of booking commencement of the XUV700, the first 25,000 bookings were completed in just 30 minutes. Mahindra has been still trying to fulfill the demand for XUV700 and Thar even today.

A few people still have to wait for their XUV700 SUVs for more than a year. This time around, Mahindra must be better prepared but the supply chain issue is not in its hands. Nevertheless, Mahindra must’ve taken that into consideration this time around which is why it will deliver the first 20,000 SUVs by December 2022. Also, the top variants might be given preference since most bookings are for the fully-loaded top trims.
