Mahindra Scorpio N was recently spotted alongside the Bujji. Bujji, as you must be aware, is making a buzz online as the prominent vehicle for the upcoming movie, Kalki 2898 AD. It is directed by Naga Chaitanya and is slated to release on June 27. Viewers have been raving about the monstrous indigenous truck created by Mahindra in association with Jayem Automotives of Coimbatore. People are excited about witnessing the colossal Bujji in action on the big screen. For now, let us take a look at the details of the ginormous vehicle.
Mahindra Scorpio N Seen Besides Bujji
This post arrives from the official X handle of the Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra. It reads, “The mission was to invade Mumbai. But at Mahindra Towers in Worli, #Bujji ran into its cousinโmy scarlet ScorpioNโand negotiated a peace treaty Shabaash, @nagashwin7 for producing a landmark Indian Sci-Fi filmโฆ My good wishes are with everyone who dreams THIS bigโฆ.” It is evident from this post that Anand Mahindra is immensely proud of this unique project.
While it is parked alongside the popular Mahindra Scorpio N, it feels strange to see the Scorpio N getting dwarfed. That is a rare occasion. But it makes sense once you acquaint yourselves with the actual dimensions of the Bujji. It is 6,075 mm in length, 3,380 mm in width and 2,186 mm in height. That is larger in every aspect in comparison to even the biggest mass-market SUVs on sale at the moment. The weight of this monster is a jaw-dropping 6 tonnes and comes with two 34.4-inch hubless rims at the front and one at the rear. Additionally, it has a 47 kWh battery pack with two electric motors. The result is a decent 126 hp and an almost unbelievable 9,800 Nm of peak power and torque.
Our View
I love to witness creative engineering projects like these. I understand that there are innumerable instances of people going for aftermarket car modifications. But it is rare to see a mainstream automobile car marque getting involved in such a project. That is what makes the Bujji so special. To see it plying on actual roads is strange but exciting. We shall have to wait and see how big a role it plays in the movie.
