The Scorpio N is one of the most compelling propositions in this segment whether you are looking for comfort or off-roading
In this post, we shall discuss the ownership experience of a Mahindra Scorpio N owner after driving it for 18,000 km. That is a long enough distance to get acquainted with the characteristics of any car. This first-hand experience will inform other potential buyers who have the Scorpio N on their bucket list. Mahindra equips the Scorpio N with the latest convenience and tech amenities to pamper the customers. On top of that, there are hardcore off-roading functionalities to allow the owners to take it just about anywhere. Let us take a look at what the owner has to say.
Mahindra Scorpio N Ownership Experience – Pros
- Road Presence – The owner mentions that the SUV has an imposing road presence and looks butch. The sheer dimensions and strikingly bold elements make heads turn anywhere you go. Some major reasons for this are the large alloy wheels, rugged side body cladding, handy roof rails, upright stance and a high seating position. In fact, the owner also mentions that the throw of the headlamp is great.
- Premium Cabin – Next up is the cabin layout and colour combination. The black and brown colour combination is reminiscent of high-end premium vehicles. Its large infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, high-quality door panels, and comfortable seats are some elements which enhance your in-cabin experience.
- Driving Comfort – Even though the Mahindra Scorpio N is a large SUV, the owner mentions that driving it doesn’t feel cumbersome at all. In fact, he specifically says that the steering wheel is light and gives decent feedback which inspires confidence. Apart from that, he says that the gearshifts of this automatic transmission are surprisingly good. You can’t feel any hiccups and don’t even feel the gears shifting. That is a testament to the Mahindra engineers. He also mentions that there is not much difference in mileage between manual and automatic variants.
- In-Cabin Amenities – The owner talks about the in-cabin functions like the electric sunroof, powerful AC and comfortable seats. The sunroof lets the light inside the cabin which makes it appear spacious. Also, the AC is powerful enough to cool the cabin even if the vehicle is parked in the harsh sun. Long journeys become easy with comfortable seats.
- Second Row – The second row is extremely comfortable with the reclining function, USB-C charging socket and rear AC vents. In fact, the owner remarks that this is the first time he is sitting in the second row and loves how comfortable the back angle gets once you recline it. Being a tall SUV, there is no shortage of headroom either. These are the top pros of the Mahindra Scorpio N as per this ownership experience.
Mahindra Scorpio N Ownership Experience – Cons
- Faulty Infotainment System – The first thing of concern the owner mentions is the infotainment system. He says that the touchscreen hangs quite frequently. He also mentions that he is not sure if other Scorpio N owners are also facing this issue or not. In addition to that, he says that Alexa is not able to recognize voice commands in most cases. Even after visiting the service centre and updating the system, he didn’t get a proper solution. Also, after replacing the battery sensor, he didn’t have many problems with the Arenox.
- Voice Issue During Call with Apple CarPlay – Then the owner highlights a problem with the Apple CarPlay. When he makes a call, his voice reaches the other person on the phone after a delay. This is applicable to the voice of the other person as well. Hence, the owner has to put the phone on speaker and talk which is when the voice gets normal.
- Rear View Camera Quality – The owner of the Mahindra Scorpio N demonstrates the camera quality of the SUV by putting it in reverse gear. He feels the quality is low and could have been much better. Apart from that, there are no AC vents for the third-row passengers, which he feels is necessary. Apart from that, he says that the front passengers don’t get USB-C ports or the 12-volt socket. Note that the USB-C port is at the rear and the 12-volt socket is positioned in the boot compartment.
- Boot Space – Finally, the owner thinks that the boot space on the Mahindra Scorpio N is too small. Now, we understand that 3-row SUVs don’t generally offer much boot capacity. However, the man says that the space in the Scorpio N’s boot is exceedingly small. As a result, it is difficult to fit in even a smaller bag. These are the pros and cons as a part of the ownership experience of the Mahindra Scorpio N after 18,000 km.
