Mahindra Scorpio-N Sets have set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing of the Simpson Desert by a production vehicle.
The Mahindra Scorpio N is one of the most popular cars in the Indian market. Now, it has set a new record. The popular SUV has become the fastest production vehicle to cross the Simpson Desert in Australia. This achievement has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. The latest-gen Scorpio managed to get through the 385 km of challenging terrain in just 13 hours. It was driven by professional drivers Gene Corbett and Ben Robinson. The whole journey was captured by Mahindra Auto Global’s team.

Made-in-India Mahindra SUVs Sold in Australia

The Scorpio N is available in Australia as the ‘Scorpio.’ The company also offers the XUV700 and Pik Up (based on the Scorpio Classic).
Australia-spec Mahindra Scorpio N
In Australia, only diesel variants of the popular SUV are available – Z8 and Z8L. These are similar to the top-spec trims of the India-spec model. Both variants are feature a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that outputs 175 PS of peak power and 400 Nm of maximum torque. It works in tandem with a 6-speed automatic transmission as the standard gearbox. The India-spec Scorpio N comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox option.

The top-spec Z8L costs $45,999 in Australia. On the other hand, the Z8 variant comes at a starting price of $41,990. Interested customers can choose from Deep Forest, Dazzling Silver, Everest White, Napoli Black, and Rage Red colour options. Both variants get a 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system as standard. Additional features include a low-range gearbox, electronic brake differential, and mechanical differential lock. Off-road driving modes on the Mahindra Scorpio-N include Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
