After launching the iconic SUV in its latest avatar, Mahindra is now preparing a slew of Born Electric SUVs some of which will be the EV versions of the existing models.
As a part of Mahindra Group’s Born Electric portfolio, we would love to see an EV version of the newly launched Scorpio N. Mahindra has lined up a plethora of electric SUVs in the coming years beginning its journey in the mass EV market. It had already launched the e2o electric hatchback back in 2016 but that was in cooperation with Reva Electric. It was a tiny urban EV and people were not ready for it back then. Hence, this Born Electric initiative could be considered the first serious attempt by the Indian auto giant to go electric.

This stunning rendition has been delivered by Gen-x Designs on Instagram. They have ensured that the overall silhouette of the SUV remains identical to the regular IC engine-powered version but there are subtle differences that clarify its electric credentials. For instance, the electric blue underline beneath the dual-barrel projector headlamps, a blue pattern on the radiator grille just above the rugged skid plate, a hint of blue on the alloy wheels, etc. The roof is painted white to offer that dual-tone theme and the silver side body skirting enhances the bling element of the concept EV.

With Mahindra about to commence its operations in the EV space, the first products are most likely to be the conversions from the existing models like the XUV300 Electric. If it decides to follow the same pattern, an all-electric version of the Scorpio N is not that far-fetched. In the long run, Mahindra had teased the XUV900 Coupe SUV and it plans to launch nine new electric vehicles by 2026. The eXUV300 might be launched in the first quarter of 2023.
