This is a detailed comparison of the recently launched Mahindra Scorpio Classic and the earlier model. Note that the Scorpio Classic is different from the Scorpio N that was launched earlier this year. Hence, this comparison will be with the regular Scorpio that was on sale even prior to the Scorpio N. Since it is a facelift, there are not too many changes but the refreshed SUV does carry some important updates.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic vs Old Model Specs Comparison
As far as the engine options go, the new Scorpio comes with the same engine albeit with mechanical changes like the use of aluminium in the engine block reducing the overall weight of the engine by 55 kg. Hence, the power and torque figures have gone down a bit but the fuel efficiency should be affected positively, as a result. However, 230 Nm of torque is available from as low as 1000 RPM due to modified engine calibration. Also, the SUV features a revised suspension that has resulted into lower body roll and more confident handling.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic vs Old Model Price Comparison
The new Mahindra Scorpio Classic has been priced between Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom for the S and S11 variants respectively. Note that this SUV is offered in just two variants. On the other hand, the last-gen Scorpio has a ton of variants ranging from S2 to S11. The prices started at Rs 9.40 lakh and went all the way up to Rs 18.63 lakh, ex-showroom.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic vs Old Model Exterior Comparison
While the overall dimensions remain the same, there are aesthetic changes to the exterior of the new Scorpio Classic. The SUV features a modernised exterior including revised projector headlamps, a tweaked grille with the new Mahindra logo, redesigned bumper, a new skid plate to make the front look rugged, new horizontal LED DRLs mounted atop the fog lamps, the familiar air duct on the bonnet, a new set of elegant 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, new dual-tone side body cladding with Scorpio engraving, Classic insignia and black side pillars, Classic Scorpio Tower LED taillamps complete the new look.

Interior and Features Comparison
The most prominent feature of the new Scorpio Classic is the availability of a 9-inch infotainment display which comes with Bluetooth, AUX and USB Connectivity, and Phone Mirroring, the centre console and dashboard layout look more premium although there is the use of hard plastic, there is the use of leatherette upholstery, sunglass holder, individual armrests, steering-mounted controls, part-digital instrument cluster, cruise control and wood pattern on the door panels make it look a bit more modern compared to the outgoing mode.
