Mahindra Scorpio Classic created quite a buzz ever since it was launched recently in our market. This is perhaps the first time that we get to witness the 3 generations of it at the same time.
The 3 generations of the Mahindra Scorpio (Classic) were spotted parked side-by-side. Scorpio Classic took the market by storm when it bagged over 1 lakh bookings in just 25 mins. The Scorpio nameplate has attracted lakhs of buyers and is now available in 2 avatars – Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic. The former is a relatively premium and feature-laden version, while the latter is designed for people who want that utilitarian and hardcore feeling of the regular Scorpio.

3 Generations of Mahindra Scorpio SUV Seen Together

On the extreme left, one could see the latest version with the twin-peak logo and horizontal LED DRLs on the bumper, silver skid plate, chrome garnish on the vertical slats of the front grille, and revised headlamps. In the middle, one could see the oldest iteration of the SUV in black colour. It was, essentially, the foundation in terms of the design and road presence from which the subsequent models were spawned. Finally, on the extreme right in white colour, we see the 2nd-gen model that the latest Scorpio Classic replaces. This image clearly represents how the popular SUV has evolved over the years.

It must be under be understood that the new Scorpio Classic doesn’t feature too many changes to the exterior or the interior. On the outside, the new-gen model could be easily related to the outgoing model, while there are a few minute changes inside the cabin to make it look a bit more modern. This includes slight tweaks to the dashboard layout and the inclusion of a touchscreen infotainment system.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic Specs
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic comes with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 130 hp and 300 Nm of peak power and torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a cable shift for quick and precise gearshifts. This engine is 55 kg lighter than the outgoing model making it more efficient. The prices range from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Which one of these do you like the most and why?
