Mahindra Mojo Electric Variant has been spotted in Bangalore. For the first time, the Electric Mojo has been spotted. The spy images indicate that it is in the works and we expect, it might launch sometime in 2020.
Mahindra Mojo is the home maker’s one of the most ambitious projects. The 300cc cruiser looks good and is powerful enough. However, Mahindra still does not have a good hold over the 2-wheeler market. Now, the latest spy images have surfaced of the Mahindra Moho Electric Variant. You heard it right. It has been spotted parked outside a factory of Bosch in Bangalore. Looks like it is doing some component testing because a lot of parts were not present on the bike. The Electric Mojo will the first Electric bike in its segment and therefore would have no competition as such. Currently, no further details are out yet, but we can expect Mahindra to not price it much high. So, we expect it to be priced under Rs 3 Lakhs to be in good competition.

As we see the spy image, the first thing that you will see that Mahindra Mojo Electric Variant does not have a gear shifter. Usually, EVs are single-speed only. If it has a conversion transmission, then it might have a clutch just to select the gear at which the vehicle runs constantly.
Also, the chain sprocket system and the final drive chain are replaced with a belt drive unit. The chain sprocket system is needed for gear shifting, which is not there. No exhaust was found on board either. Also, the fact that it is parked beside Electric two-wheelers, makes it more obvious.

Recently, the government announced about offering a subsidy to people who buy an EV. The maximum limit is 1.4 Lakhs or 20% of the value of the vehicle, whichever is lower. Also, last month the GST rates on lithium-ion batteries were reduced from 28% to 18%. So, these policies by the government can help in encouraging people to buy Electric vehicles.
Currently, there are 2 Mojos in the lineup – Mojo XT 300 and Mojo UT 300. The XT model is the top-spec trim. Also, the one in the spy image is the XT 300. The Mojo comes with a 295cc liquid-cooled EFI engine. The engine pumps out 27 BHP of power and around 30 Nm of torque. It comes with a 21-litre fuel tank and an expected mileage of around 25 KMPL. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and records a top speed of 155 km/hr.
