There is a bit of mixed news for those who were looking forward to the launch of the Mahindra Mojo 300. The good news is that the company has confirmed that the bike will be launched. The bad news is that the launch may be delayed even more.
Why? Well, Mahindra is concentrating all its efforts at selling the recently launched 110-cc scooter, the Gusto. The Gusto, Mahindra hopes, will bring in more customers to the brand and help the brand market themselves better in the highly contested two-wheeler market in India. The Mahindra Mojo is not expected to sell in large numbers, and the company wants every ounce of goodwill among its customers to attract more customers to the bike once it is launched.

The production ready version of the Mahindra Mojo 300 was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February 2014. Now there are reports suggesting that the bike will be launched in India in June 2014. The possibility of Mahindra 2 Wheelers launching the Mahindra Mojo 300 in 2014 seems to be increasing as new spy shots of the bike have surfaced. The camouflaged test mule seems to have got a bigger tank and revised styling at the front to make it more muscular than the bike we first saw in 2010. When launched the bike is expected to be the only true competition to the monster that is the KTM 390 Duke. It will also go up against the Honda CBR250R and Hyosung GT250R. We hope Mahindra does not back out this time. Check out the spy shots below.

The buzz around the Mahindra Mojo 300 just doesn’t die down, does it? It has been keeping bike enthusiasts on edge since it was first announced (and almost launched) in 2011. Now the interweb is again tingling with the news that Mahindra may finally launch the bike at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The bike will not look like the one showcased in 2014, as we know that Mahindra has been testing the bike with a new fairing and some small changes to the body. The engine specs will not differ from the bike that was announced in 2011, we do expect the bike, if it is launched, to give the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS, the KTM 200/390 Duke, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Honda CBR250R a stiff competition.
We do hope that Mahindra will launch the bike in 2014, it has been too long. Keep tuned in to Car Blog India for more news.

Remember that time when Mahindra showcased its flagship motorcycle, the Mojo? The bike was slated to launch in 2012 but Mahindra’s two wheeler division decided to give the plans for launching the flagship motorcycle a rest. Mahindra wanted to ensure that the bike came without any technical glitches when it hit the roads and has been working on the bike for quite a while. The Mahindra Mojo is believed to be in the final stages of its testing and the same has been caught testing on Indian roads by the good folks back at Powerdrift. The images reveal that the bike will come with minor restyling because the bike’s design raised quite a few eyebrows when it was showcased.
If you see Mahindra Mojo 300 Spy pictures intricately, the bike’s fuel tank will undergo an overhaul and so will the front of the bike. The bike is expected to get a bigger bikini fairing up front to house the twin headlamps which did not really have anything substantial around them initially. You can also notice body coloured bits under the fairing of the bike which were not a part of the bike when showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo.
The Mahindra Mojo is propelled by a 292cc engine that puts out a maximum power of 25.8 BHP with the peak torque being rated at 25 NM. This engine will be mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. It is expected to get a slew of features like the Mahindra Centuro which are not available with the competition on offer. It will be gunning primarily for the Duke 200 and the CBR250R.
The bike’s naked appeal will appeal to quite a few and the restyling that Mahindra will be bringing to the table will add to the aura around the bike. The bike has a bit quirky design but Mahindra is restyling it in order to please a lot of people. It does not get split-seats for the rider comfort but is expected to come with a cushioning decent enough. The pricing will be the key seeing the fact that Mahindra is not really a popular 2 wheeler brand.
It is gaining momentum slowly and if it prices the premium bike right, we might just have a winner on our hands.
