A new video shows an American-made Hummer H2 stuck in a pond being rescued by an old Mahindra Major
The American-made Hummer H2 is widely known as the greatest vehicle ever. It is considered the best off-roading vehicle. However, a new video breaks this myth. Shanil MpNz has shared a video you YouTube that shows a Hummer H2 being stuck in the water when the group was exploring around. Despite being in a 4X4 mode, it does not find enough grip out of the riverbed. Surprisingly, it is rescued by an old Mahindra Major and the whole incident was captured on video. This is quite unusual for a vehicle like Hummer. So what is happening here?

As you can see in the video above, the driver of Hummer H2 decided to go deep into the river water. As a result, the car could not find enough grip to come out of the riverbed and got stuck. Even though the Hummer H2 was in 4X4 mode, the road-biased tyres could not find ample grip on the wet surface. It is very important to have proper tyres before you go out for off-roading. Even for the most powerful vehicles, the tyres are the contact point between the surface and the vehicle. The AWD and 4X4 are simply not enough. Sometimes better tyres on 4X2 vehicles can offer better grip in slippery conditions.
Finally, a Mahindra Major came to its rescue. After a lot of effort, it managed to pull the Hummer H2 out of the riverbed. A rope was tied between the Mahindra Major and the Hummer H2’s front bumper. The force between both vehicles is so much that the rope opens and falls down from the Major. After the rope is put back, the Major gives it another tug. The Hummer goes through several wheelspins and creates a fountain in the river. However, it came out of the river after multiple attempts. Since the Mahindra Major looks purposefully maintained for off-roading with better tyes, it managed to rescue the Hummer H2.

Imported Hummer H2
The Hummer H2 seen above is an imported model with LHD (left-hand drive) option. It carries a Dubai registration plate. Many car enthusiasts get their vehicles to Indian soil on the Carnet (mostly through the UAE). This includes NRIs, people who work abroad, and celebrities. Many millionaires bring their high-end cars to India in this way. This includes cars like McLaren 720S, Hummer H2, and many others. At any point, there are several cars here on Carnet. It requires a lot of paperwork. You also have to pay taxes, duties, and other charges as required by the country.
Carnet
The carnet paper is issued by the country where the car is registered. These documents are properly checked by the authorities of the country where the car enters. However, such vehicles are only allowed on Indian soil for a few days or weeks. You can always approach the authorities to increase the validity period. Carnet is essentially a visa for cars. These imported units become temporary residents of India. In addition, carnet also allows you to bring other expensive goods that can be used to transfer vehicles from one country to the other.
