Here are the first spy shots of Mahindra KUV 100 EV. It is expected to launch in India by mid-2019. Reports say that the E-SUV will offer 200 kms on a full charge, making it ready for the city travel.
Mahindra has expressed its plans of Electric Vehicles in India. At the 2018 Auto Expo, the automaker showcased the KUV 100 EV. It is the first of the three EVs planned by Mahindra for the Indian market in near future.
For the first time, Mahindra KUV 100 EV has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. The photo is unclear, but the bodywork and missing exhaust muffler led us to believe that it is indeed the EV.
Mahindra KUV 100 EV will be purely Electric, without the absence of any conventional fuel motor. The micro-SUV based EV is scheduled to launch here by mid-2019. It will be the third EV from Mahindra, after E20 Plus and E-Verito.

Mahindra KUV 100 EV might come with a 72V Lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack, that comes in E-Verito. The 2018 Expo showcased model came with a 40.79 PS electric motor. The EV can achieve a top speed of up to 100 km/hr.
While revealing its plans for Electric Vehicles, Mahindra states that the engine could range between 40 BHP – 240 BHP. It will develop powerful engines from the start,
Mahindra KUV 100 EV will come with an optional fast charger, which will charge the EV up to 80% under an hour. As per Mahindra’s claim, the EV can offer a driving range between 140-200 kms on the full charge.

As of now, E20 Plus and E-Verito are priced much higher than what their conventionally powered version would be. However, with time, the prices of EVs and its components are set to decrease.
The government has already made plans to encourage the buying of electric vehicles. It provides subsidies and some tax benefits to EV buyers. Also, the GST rate on aftermarket lithium-ion batteries was lowered a bit.
Mahindra KUV 100 EV will sport slight changes from the regular KUV 100. It would get features such as projector headlamps, cabin pre-cooling, battery status, driver information, driving range and other advanced telematics.

The prices of Mahindra KUV 100 EV might be around Rs 9-10 Lakhs. It will be priced a bit over the regular KUV 100, but not much to make a difference. In this price range, it will likely receive no competition in near future.
