Mahindra has teased its upcoming biggest EV for the 2020 Auto Expo, which will go by the Funster EV name. It will further spawn the new generation XUV500.
Mahindra has teased its upcoming three electric vehicles for India. The first two include the production version of electric XUV300 and KUV100. Another one is a mid-size electric SUV, of which, now, Mahindra has released a teaser.
Mahindra Funster is the upcoming electric SUV from the manufacturer. It will be unveiled on the 5th of February, at the Expo. First impressions of the teaser indicate that it has a resemblance to the Ssangyong Korado SUV.
Mahindra Funster EV gets a flat bonnet and its height also looks a bit lower. There are new sleek LED DRLs integrated on the bumpers and Dash (-) type LED headlamps as well. The wheel arches denote that it will bear the tough SUV look.

The new alloy wheels look something out of the box and unconventional. Lastly, the design outline of the Mahindra Funster EV shows that the big-fat styling of XUV500 is carried over here as well. We will get to know about all the details on 5th February.
Most likely, the Funster will debut in a concept form only. On the other hand, XUV300 and KUV 100 EVs will debut in the production-ready form. While the XUV300 will be launched next year, Mahindra might launch the E KUV100.
At the 2020 Auto Expo, Mahindra will not showcase the new generation XUV500. The new SUV will debut later this year as it is still under testing process. The XUV500 will get a complete makeover in terms of design and features. Also, it will get a new 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine.

The new diesel engine will be more powerful, producing 180 PS. The diesel engine will also be paired to AWD configuration. 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT will be available as transmission options. There’s also a BS6 2.0 Litre petrol engine coming onboard.
