Mahindra Reva Electric company has officially reveled the name of its upcoming electric car, the Mahindra E2O which will be a compact electric car that can be charged using a normal electricity socket at home or office premises in India. The E2O has been spotted a couple of times and we have already shown you spy pictures of E2O spotted testing on Delhi roads. This electric car is based on Mahindra’s future of Mobility vision which envisions the use of clean energy for transportation. The 5C ideology of Reva includes Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost effective commuting.
The E2O will be powered by new generation Lithium Ion batteries instead of conventional Lead-Acid batteries. It makes the car light in weight, quicker to charge and gives it a longer range of over 100 Km on one full charge. The E2O has already acquired the required ARAI certifications and has been tested to comply with the norms. It will be manufactured in Bengaluru plant which was inaugurated few months back only and is India’s first platinum certified plant.
Mahindra has used a lot of proprietary technologies on the development of the E2O (Reva NXR) and has also developed an eco-system to charge the car using the energy from Sunlight which is called as “Sun2Car” drive ecosystem which will not only save electricity cost, but is also more eco-friendly system.
The inspiration behind the name of the E2O is sustainable energy which indicates the e for the energy of Sun and O signifies oxygen of sustenance factor of the environment by the use of clean energy.
