Mahindra’s new product XUV300 for the compact SUV segment and the Marazzo for the MPV segment helped the manufacturer in sales.
When most car manufacturers are suffering due to the low sales because of the market sentiment of not owning cars, Mahindra & Mahindra shines bright by being the only manufacturer to report a growth of 4% in car sales for the month of June 19. Mahindra sold a total of 18,826 units of passenger vehicles this June compared to only 18,137 units.
Mahindra also saw an increase of 8% in sales from the utility car segment for the month of June 19. The manufacturer sold a total of 17,723 units compared to the 16,408 units last year. However, the sales of passenger cars and vans saw a fall of 36% by selling just 1103 units as opposed to 1729 units for June ’18.
Talking about the monthly performance, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Division, M&M said, “The market sentiment continued to remain subdued, especially in the Passenger Vehicles segment.
