Interestingly, Mahindra has been powering its armoured equipment on many international vehicles including the bulletproof Land Cruiser from Toyota. We know that the Land Cruiser is an iconic SUV in many parts of the world. Not only that, it has a tradition of being one of the most capable off-roading SUVs in the world. That is the reason why many prominent personalities across the world like politicians opt for it. Mahindra to Make Bulletproof Land Cruiser for Toyota
The specifics of this event stem from the Mahindra Emirates Vehicle Armouring (MEVA) channel on YouTube. This channel features content around what this special division of Mahindra has been doing globally. In fact, we have even seen many armoured vehicles for the Indian Army coming from this engineering team. In this video, we see the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 being used as the test mule on which the Mahindra armoured amenities are being installed and tested. The level of detailing and equipment is incredible. The video clip captures various tests and the consequences of the ballistics and explosions.
Mahindra says that “The Armoured TLC 300 is rigorously tested and certified to meet highest international standards, including VPAM VR7 (BRV & ERV) Edition3, PAS 300, PAS 301, CEN 1522 & CEN 1063 (up to B6, BR6, and FB6) levels; reflecting our commitment to exceptional protection and security against blast and ballistic threats.” It even mentions that it can provide armouring levels like B6, B7 and VPAM VR7 and more as per the requirements. You will be able to see in this video that the vehicle has survived blasts and ballistics attacks including 400+ shots fired at its body. The exterior, along with the glass have been modified to meet the highest standards. Hence, this bulletproof Land Cruiser has been able to get through the most extreme testing.
My View
It is impressive to see what the Mahindra Emirates Vehicle Armouring team has been able to achieve in this field. As the armies of countries continue to become stronger, the need for innovative mobility solutions is imminent. Knowing that an Indian automobile giant is so a huge player in this space is a matter of pride. I am excited to see how things pan out in the future and which large car companies approach Mahindra to manufacture armoured equipment for their cars.
