Mahindra Bolero Neo has scored a 1 star rating in the latest round of Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests. The UV has been rated on the basis of assessment of frontal, side, and side pole impacts.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Crash Test Results
- Frontal Impact Analysis: In the frontal impact test at 64 kmph, the Bolero Neo has been rated to offer ‘marginal’ head protection for the driver and ‘good’ head protection for the front passenger. Neck protection was rated ‘good’ for both occupants. However, chest protection for the driver was ‘weak.’ It was ‘adequate’ for the passenger. Knee protection was ‘marginal’ for both front occupants. Finally, the footwell was deemed unstable.
- Side Impact Assessment: In the side impact test at 50 kmph, the Bolero Neo exhibited ‘good’ head, waist, and hip protection for the driver. The chest protection was rated ‘adequate.’ The absence of curtain airbags prevented a comprehensive evaluation of side pole impact protection.
- Child Occupant Protection Result: For child occupants, the Bolero Neo showed varied performance. The rear-facing 18-month-old child seat offered limited head protection, but the 3-year-old’s forward-facing seat offered almost full protection in a frontal impact. Both child restraint systems (CRS) offered full protection in the side impact scenario.

Standard Safety Features and Mahindra’s Response
Mahindra Bolero Neo comes with a host of standard safety features, including dual front airbags, rear parking sensors with reverse assist, and ISOFIX child mounts. It even speaks of the vehicle’s time-proven utility and reliability in varied usage conditions.
