India is home to a lot of manned and unmanned railway crossings.
In this latest video, a horrifying case of a Mahindra Bolero being hit by a train at a crossing is showcased. India is a vast land and the railways are the lifeline of the country penetrating almost every part of it. It means that the trains pass through some of the most remote areas of the country too. Now it is not possible to keep the station master posted at every crossing of the country. As a result, there are many railway crossings which are unmanned. As you would imagine, things could easily go wrong in such places and this is a prime example of that.

Unfortunately, the train ended up hitting the Bolero from the side and dragging it for around 200 m.

The visuals showcase the entire incident. The damage to the vehicle is apparent. However, what is impressive is the fact that the SUV was able to save both passengers without any major injuries. That is a testament to the build quality of Mahindra Bolero. However, the body of the car is severely damaged as seen in the video. The side door, roof, side pillars and all the other components have sustained heavy impact. One would hardly be able to believe that the vehicle was able to safeguard the passengers.

What We Think
We lose thousands of lives on our roads each year. Most of them are due to the reluctance of people to follow traffic regulations. While we are not sure what the exact reason this time around was, we would recommend our readers to always be alert while driving and ensure that you don’t overspeed. When you drive within the speed limit, the chances of you dealing with any sudden appearance on the road are much higher. Let us try to be responsible drivers and make our roads safer than they are.
