The Mahindra BE.05 is made on the INGLO platform, ready for the future. It’s expected to have a 60 kWh battery, letting you drive up to 450 km on one charge. At first, it’ll come with 2WD, but later, they might add an AWD option. Because of its advanced battery, the BE.05 can charge super fast, up to 175 kW. That means you can go from 5% to 80% charged in just 30 minutes. They’re planning to launch the BE.05 in October 2025, starting at Rs 25 lakh (excluding showroom costs). It’ll directly compete with the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta EV.

Author’s Note
The electric car market is picking up speed in India, and it’s interesting to see Indian car makers taking the lead. For example, Tata Motors holds more than 80% of the Indian EV market right now. They’ve managed to turn their regular gas cars into electric ones successfully. Likewise, Mahindra is following a similar path with the XUV400, which is based on the XUV300. The XUV.e8 will similarly be based on the existing XUV700. Looking forward, Mahindra has big plans to bring out five electric SUVs in the next few years. This will give customers a wider range of choices to pick from.
