Mahindra Alturas is a Rexton G4 underneath. The only differences include that Alturas gets a Mahindra family front grille, minor changes to the body and a different engine. It uses the body-on-frame construction, which also comes in current Rexton. This indicates that the SUV will be heavy, taking a toll on its mileage figures.
Reports also suggest that Mahindra Alturas will come in 2 trims – the base variant 2WD G2 and the top-end 4WD G4. G4 will use a part-time 4WD drivetrain system. However, there would not be many different features between both the variants.
