Mahindra Alturas G4 will get some design changes at the front fascia and the side profile.
Several spy shots of Mahindra & Mahindra have been caught in the past of testing their BS6 engines for all cars available in their portfolio. However, the Mahindra Alturas G4 was never seen with its hood but now a new spy shot of their flagship SUV has been caught testing with BS6 engine.
The 2020 Mahindra Alturas G4 will see a major overhaul as the SUV will sit on new alloy wheel design and gets BS6 ready engines. The front fascia also sees a new grille design and fog lamp housing.
Currently, the Alturas comes in two variants – G2 and G4. The SUV gets a 2WD drivetrain for the base variant. The G4 variant comes with a 4 Wheel Drive system. The engine is BS6 compliant so transitioning won’t be that difficult.

Alturas comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 170 BHP and 420 Nm of peak torque. It comes only with an automatic gearbox, for which it uses a Mercedes-sourced 7-speed AT unit.
Features onboard Mahindra Alturas include LED Projector Headlamps, Automatic headlamps, Rain-sensing wipers, 8-way adjustable driver seat with memory function, Dual-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, Voice command, Panoramic Sunroof and Automatic Tail-gate.
Safety features include dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, ABS, Electronic brake force distribution, Electronic stability control, Hill Descent Control, Hill Ascent Control, Parking sensors and a 360-degrees Parking camera.

Mahindra Alturas goes off against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V and Isuzu MU-X facelift. In this competition, Fortuner is the biggest player, mainly because of its high dependability. However, Alturas offers many more features, which gives it an edge over Fortuner.
