The Mahindra Alturas G4 is going to compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. Prices to start from above INR 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
The long-anticipated Alturas SUV from Mahindra is all set to launch in India by the end of this month. Based on the G4 Rexton, the Mahindra Alturas G4 is going to stand as the flagship product for the homegrown automaker in India. It will compete in the 30 lakh plus premium SUV segment. Hence, its rival will include the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Honda CR-V.
Mahindra has now officially revealed that the Alturas G4 is going to launch in India on the 24th of October this year. In addition to this, the automaker has also revealed that its bookings are also open across all Mahindra dealerships.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 will retail in India in a total of two variants. These will be named as the G2 and the G4. The G2 variant is going to offer 2WD drive mode. In addition to this, it is likely to offer the option of a manual as well as an automatic gearbox. The top-end G4 variant will offer the 4WD option and is likely to come with only an automatic gearbox.

Mahindra is yet to confirm the engine specifications of the Alturas G4 SUV. However, we can safely speculate that it will use a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The power output for this oil-burner will stand close to 185 BHP with the torque figure clocking around 420 Nm. There is a possibility for the introduction of a petrol derivative as well. The latter could be a 2.0-litre unit. Its power outputs will stand close to 225 BHP along with 220 Nm of peak torque.
Expect the diesel derivative of this SUV to offer a mileage figure of around 15 km/l. While the petrol motor, if introduced is likely to offer around 10 km/l of mileage.

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is going to measure 4,850 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,800 mm in height. Its wheelbase is going to clock 2,865 mm. With this, as mentioned before, it will stand as a full-sized SUV, as a flagship product for Mahindra in India.
Being a premium SUV, the Alturas G4 is going to offer a plethora of features. Automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, leather upholstery, multi-zone climate control are some that you can expect.

In addition to revealing the launch details of the Alturas, Mahindra has also fully revealed the exteriors of this vehicle. It looks exactly like the model that we saw at the at 2018 Auto Expo. It carries forward the same design as the SsangYong Rexton G4, the SUV on which it is based upon.
