The motorsports teams of Mahindra and Mahindra, Team Mahindra Adventure, did wonderful at the Dakshin Dare 2012. It won’t be inappropriate to say that Team Mahindra Adventure took the Dakshin Dare 2012 Rally by storm. Mahindra Adventure team made a clean sweep at the top titles, in the 4th edition of the gruelling five-day rally that concluded in Bangalore recently.
Mahindra XUV500, the latest SUV from Mahindra and Mahindra did a wonderful performance by claiming top 2 spots in the Ultimate (Extreme) category of the Dakshin Dare Rally 2012. These cars were driven by National champion Gaurav Gill (co-driver Musa Sheriff) and Lohitt Urs (co-driver Chipong Chiwan) in the rally. This victory marked a triumph for the XUV500 car which became the first diesel SUV to win an extreme category in the history of Indian rallying.

In the Endurance Category, two Mahindra Scorpio SUVs finished first and second which were driven by Sanjay Takale (co-driver Musthafa) and Karthick Maurthi (co-driver Sankar Anand) which made this Rally all the more cherishing for the Mahindra Adventure Team.
In Corporate Category, Mahindra Thar SUV finished first which was being driven by K.S. Venkatesh (co-driver Chandra Sekaran) which was like an icing on the cake for Mahindra Adventure.
