We expect Hero Motocorp to launch the Maestro Edge 125 this month. At the launch of Destini, the officials had confirmed for an early-2019 launch.
Hero is going to launch the new Maestro Edge 125 in India soon. While the officials had confirmed for an early 2019 launch, we expect it to be launched this month. It will be the second 125cc scooter from the brand, after Destini 125.
Hero has achieved great success with the Destini scooter. It has already crossed the 20,000-units sales mark this month. The 125cc scooter was launched back in September 2018.
While Hero positioned Destini as a family focused scooter, Maestro Edge 125 will be sportier and aimed towards the younger generation. It will basically look identical to the 110cc Maestro.

The upcoming scooter will be powered by the same engine that comes on Destini. The 124.6cc air-cooled engine produces 8.7 BHP and 10.2 Nm of peak torque.
The same engine is Destini offers linear acceleration. We expect the engine on the Maestro Edge 125 to be tuned to offer quicker acceleration and an overall fun-to-ride performance.
Of course, Hero will equip it with the i3S technology. The Intelligent Start-Stop system switches off the engine if the scooter is idle for more than 5 minutes. With the press of the brake lever, the engine resumes automatically.

The features will be somewhat similar to that on the Destini. We expect an optional front disc brake, a better digital instrument cluster, pass-switch, boot lamp, boot charging point, remote lock opening and external fuel-filler cap.
Since it is a premium 125cc scooter, Maestro Edge 125 will go against the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia and Suzuki Burgman Street.
More importantly, it will target the market of Honda Grazia and TVS Jupiter. The TVS scooter is a 110cc scooter, but the prices of its top variant goes nearly up to Rs 60000.
